How much does a kitchen remodel cost?

How long does a kitchen remodel take?
That also depends on scope. A countertop or backsplash swap is short; a full remodel with cabinets, flooring and electrical runs much longer, and material lead times matter. Ask the pro for a schedule when they quote.
Refacing or new cabinets — which should I choose?
Refacing keeps your existing cabinet boxes and changes the doors, drawer fronts and visible finish. New cabinets replace everything, which is what you need if the boxes are damaged or you want a different layout or different sizes. A remodeler can look at your boxes and tell you which makes sense.
Quartz or granite countertops?
Quartz is engineered, so the pattern is consistent and the surface is non-porous. Granite is natural stone, so every slab looks a little different and it is usually sealed. Both are common kitchen choices — your remodeler can show samples and explain care for each.
Can I live at home during the remodel?
